Struggle and Activism of Muslim Americans

The muslim americans have struggled in the sense that they are not welcomed in the US as much as they use to. They are being mistreated and they are not fighting back because they are not heard or welcomed in the United States. The muslim american problems mostly come from where the Muslim religion come from, the Middle East. There is war right now in the Middle East between the countries there and the US and thats also why they are not welcomed or treated as equally as everyone else.
The muslim americans have almost the same struggle and activism of the latin americans that come to the US illegally. The only difference that these two groups have is that the latin americans are actually fighting for their rights and doing something. I could not find anything of how they are fighting for their rights because over here they dont want any trouble even though the americans are making them go to a lot of trouble. The muslim americans dont do anything in the United States, they work in small jobs like electronic shops and gas stations. Some delegates are getting together to discuss the problem that people are having in the airports because everyone that looks Middle Eastern is stopped and sometimes sent to jai, normally to Guantanamo Bay.
The muslim americans have struggled in the US since 911 but they are not the activist that everyone thoought they would, they should start fighting for their rights more often. I think that they are suppose to have the rights to do and be wherever they want without them being stopped because of some crazy people did.

Oppression of Muslim Americans

The first muslims that came to the US were the ones that came to be slaves from Africa and other places of the Middle East. These people were mistreated because they were used as slaves by the europeans so that they had to all the work. After that they came immigrating with everyone else and they were mistreated like anyone else becuase they were not american. They have been mistreated by the europeans when they were slaves and they were mistretaed after by americans because they were "intruders" in their land.
The oppression of the muslim americans mostly started after 911 because the americans said that all muslims are now terrorists because of what happened. Not all muslims are terrorist only the ones that want to be and everyone can be a terrorist not just muslim american people or from muslim descent. For now the americans are just taking very good care of the airports, stopping every person that looks from the Middle East because they think that it could be a terrorist. This is not a good thing because everyone should have the right to be where ever they want to be without people judging them for how they look. The 1 Amendment is being violated when they oppresse this group because they are suppose to have the right to do whatever they want without people like americans telling them what to do because the muslim americans are newcomers to this land and we should welcome them peacefully regardless of what happened before.
When the muslims got here the were treated unfairly like every new immigrant that came to the United States. They were mistreated by europeans at first because they were used as slaves and later the americans mistreated them because they looked like the people that made 911 happen. These people's rights are not mentioned either because they were not part of the United States until later in time and the changes that are being made are not actually that good for them.

Muslim Americans

Muslim Americans have immigrated to the United States like most of the groups that came over here looking for freedom of religion and for new opportunities. Muslim Americans were also mistreated like any other group but in the present day they are mistreated even more because of what happened in 911. In the present day the Muslim American population is 7 million people that live now in the US. It is one of the mayor groups in the US right now but they are always being mistreated because people think that they are terrorist and they are in struggle right now because everyone can be a terrorist not just them.
The Muslim American population formed when many were migrated to the United States looking for a new life. They were mistreated like everyone else because they were not white, they were kind of tan, so Americans did not like them. Some were also compared to latin americans because of their tan skin. This group has been in the US for many years now and now they are being mistreated even more because of what happened in 911. After 911 everyone that looked like the people that did what happened are being mistreated and since the muslim americans are from the same culture they look a like. For the most part the people that look like terrorist are detained and then sent to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.
Right now the muslim american population is 7 million and growing. That makes up 2% of the United States population is muslim american. This population will keep growing because right now in the Middle East it is not very good so more muslims will keep coming to have a better life and the ones that are here now are going to keep fighting for their rights to be treated equally everywhere they go even if the people do not like it.

Summary

In Mykaella's blog she talked about the whites gaining their freedom from taking away the freedom of the Native Americans. I learned that the whites took away the Native Americans lands and and they took away their culture by accimilation. Accilimilation is forcing people to do what you believe is to be civilized. The whites used violence to force the Indians into doing whatever they wanted.
In Natassia's blog she wrote about the abuse that the Indians had to go through when the whites were taking their land away. I learned that many people died trying to protect their culture and the way that they lived. The whites killed many Native Americans because they wanted to take away their land as always. They killed innocent children and women and broke many of their promises.
In Albert's blog he talked about if the Native Americans were using self defense or if they were just violent. The old western movies showed that the Indians were just savages and attack the whites for no reason. In reality they did have a reason, they were using self defense because the whites were mostly attacking them. The whites mostly drove the Indians away from their land and put them in reservation camps.
In Ligny's blog she wrote about assimilation to the Indians. The Indians were very calm and peaceful people but the whites saw them as savages. The whites tricked the Native Americans to give up their lands and they were forced to move to0 reservation camps. The whites broke all of their promises that they made to the Native Americans.
In Ruben's blog he talked about how the psycological state of the whites change after all they had been through to get the land that they had with the British. They saw the Native Americans as another treat that wanted to take away their land so they took it away because the land was kind of the whites pride. In my opinion thiswas kind of true because th whites had to go through alot to get where they were and they want tokeep their pride intact so they will do anything to keep it.

Native American Abuse

The whites always abused of the Native Americans. Three tribes of the Native Americans were mostly affected by the abuse caused from the whites. These tribes were: the Dakota Sioux, Sittin Bull's tribe, and Red Cloud's tribe. The whites abused these tribes in many different ways. Mostly the whites took away the Native American's lands without giving them anything back, only putting them in reservation camps. Also they were tricked to leave their lands and the whites did not keep the promises that they said they would keep.
One of the first tribes that the whites took away their land was the Dakota Sioux. The Dakota Sioux were very peaceful people and the whites saw them as savages and violent people like all the people that were uncivilized. The whites made a deal with the tribe, which was that they would give up their land and the whites would give them money shelter, and food. The Dakota Sioux were tricked into giving up their land because the whites did not keep what they promised in the contract.
Another tribe that the whites abused and took away their land was Sitting Bull's tribe. This tribe tried to fight back but they had no chance against the weapons of the whites which were a lot stronger than those of the Native Americans. Sitting Bull's tribe had to run away north until they reached Canada. The Canadians treated them very nicely welcoming them into their land but the weathers in Canada were very harsh and did not help them. The tribe had hard winters and many people died while they were over in Canada. This made them move back to the US and they were put on reservation camps. Sitting Bull was the last Native American leader to give up against the whites.
Red Cloud's tribe was another tribe that was abused and tricked to give up their land and to move to reservation camps. When this tribe gave up their land the whites made a contract, which gave the Native Americans food shelter ansd whatever they needed to survive. The whites were lying when they were signing the contract because they did not keep their end of the bargain. People were dying from starvation and they were only given a very small portion of land. Eventually from the lack of medicine, Red Cloud became blind and died protecting thier people with Sitting Bull.
In conclusion, the Native Americans were always mistreated by the whites in every possible way. The Native Americans were forced to move into reservation camps, which were not nice. They were mostly tricked into giving up their land because of two reasons: or they were tricked in a contract or they were forced to move and put in reservation camps. In my opinion the whites did not have to do everything that they did to the Indians. The Indians did not observe everything that happened to them. We are all equal and everyone should be treated the same way.

What I learned...

From Mykaella's blog I learned that the immigrants that came from Japan were mostly men and when they got to the US they started farming and doing hard labor jobs and were treated very poorly. Some immigrated to the mainland of the US and the others immigrated to Hawaii because they could not afford to get to the mainland. I also learned how the japanese were treated while there was war between US and Japan, they could not go anywhere because they were always mistreated and they were put into custody as enemy aliens. I liked this blog because it shows everything that the japanese went through to get to the United States.
From Stephanie Rivera's blog I learned that one of the groups that mostly migrated to the US were the italians. They migrated for many years and mor and more came every year. The italians came just looking for a better life. Once the italians were here in the United States they had to take low class paying jobs. I also learned that the Italians worked very hard and they went up from classes, they went from lower class to middle class and kept growing. I liked this blog because she explained everything very good and I wanted to hear some history from where my ancestors came from.
In Arshad's blog I learned many more things about the Irish immigrants. I kept learning on how bad it was for the Irish to come over here. He was born in Puerto Rico and then he moved right away to Palestine. I liked his blog because he kind of immigrated to a lot of different places and he learned many things from those places. He had a hard time immigrating especially in the United States when 911 happened because everyone thought that he was a terrorist.
What I learned in Carlo's blog is that his family all originated from Spain and my dad's part of the family also was from Spain, so we have things in common. I also liked how his grandpa was called Pepin, that's a funny name. His family worked very hard to get to the United States and if they can get here with hard work everyone should too. In his blog I also learned that once they got over here they worked very hard and made their own businesses in Hatillo.

My Family Tree

Well my family tree extends to three different places in Europe: England, Spain, and Italy. My great great great grandfather was born in Italy according to my grandfather and my great great great grandmother was born in Spain. She moved to Italy so she could study and sshe met my great great great grandfather. They got married and had two children. My great great grandfather's name is Angel Luis Fraticelli and it is a tradicion that he created that the first son that is born in a family has to have that exact name. Right now I am Angel Luis Fraticelli the fifth. In my mother's side the immigrants came from England. Then everyone immigrated over here and that is why i am here today.
I think my family tree is very interesting because it combines 3 countries in Europe that are exactly my favorite countries and one day i would like to visit them to see if there is some more family history left in those countries. The fact that my family comes from those different kinds of countries makes me very proud of who I am today.
